2 chains X Versace Sneaker

Just a few weeks ago, rapper 2 Chainz teased a photo of an unreleased pair of Versace sneakers on his Instagram page. Previewing a chain link outsole of the mysterious pair, the Atlanta native provided very little information on the sneakers—leaving many to speculate that a 2 Chainz and Versace collab was possibly in the works. Now, after weeks of rumors, 2 Chainz and Donatella Versace finally confirm the ... READ MORE

Hermes new collection always raises eyebrown every PFW. The collection was full of great colors and pieces that we will see our favorite celebrities  in. The peices were consisted of  mid-calf skirts, high-waisted gray flannels, crisp white shirts, and mannish over things. My favorite was haped and textured monochromes, like the light-sucking sheen on the black ponyskin shift worn by Kati Nescher, or the soft-shouldered swoop of the coat that draped Arizona Muse’s belted cardigan, or the croc pencil skirt paired with a zipped navy blouson. It is always great to see peices that can be formed into a classy look and you can pair them for a night time Glamour outing.

Top 5 Reasons to Spring Clean Your Closet

Posted on by Icy Twan in LATEST | Comments Off on Top 5 Reasons to Spring Clean Your Closet
When a chaotic jumble of dresses, tops, jeans, t-shirts and gym clothes greet you when you open your closet door, it can be equal parts overwhelming and paralyzing. Ironically, it can also leave you feeling like you have nothing to wear.
Tracy DiNunzio, closet organizing pro and founder of resale marketplaces Tradesy and Tradesy Weddings, is eager to share her closet cleaning tips to save your readers time, money and stress on a daily basis. Sure, decluttering your closet may be an elaborate process, but the results will save your readers sanity and have them looking and feeling more put together in minutes. Here are five good reasons to tackle all that clutter:Save Money
In order to keep an article of clothing, see if it passes the test: Is it flattering by the cut, fabric and color? Does it fit you right today (not when you lose 5 pounds)? Can any damages be repaired? Does it fit your current lifestyle? Women wear only 10% of what’s in their closets in a year but still spend a lot per year stocking it up.
They say the average person wastes between a half hour to an hour per day searching for things…keys, files, tools, clothes, etc.  That time really adds up. One of the key components to being organized is having a place for everything. Tracy recommends creating a dedicated location for your belts, bags and jewelry to make it simpler to access and view what you’ve got, so that you easily accessorize and polish your look each morning.
There are tons of sites and services that make it easier than ever to find cash in your closet. For example, Tradesy makes it easy to turn that underutilized fashion into cash, with the world’s fastest, safest, and easiest online buying and selling platform, designed especially for women who don’t have technical or sales knowledge.

All you need to do is take a photo and list the item (which takes under 60 seconds), and Tradesy takes care of the rest. They’ll even offer price recommendations so that you can move your items as quickly as possible. When a buyer comes along, they hold the cash in escrow, send you an addressed package to ship the goods, and once the box is shipped, the money is yours. Customer not happy? Tradesy will take care of the returns, free of charge.

The average woman hasn’t worn 15% of their wardrobe. As a result, she has $6,000 worth of resale value in her closet. Why not turn it into cash? Other great services include Goldfellow.com, a popular and reputable online gold buyer, Amazon.com for selling your books, and UsedInstruments.com to cash in on old instruments.
Edit out anything that you’re holding on to for purely sentimental reasons. Your home is not the Costume Institute. Longing for your former figure and keeping clothes that don’t fit, or remind you of an ex, not only clutter your closet, but can prevent you from finding true happiness today. Analyze each old item in your closet and if you used to love it, feel just OK in it, or would rather have the closet space, it’s definitely time to let go and move on.

If you don’t wear something for 6 months, clean it out. After all, if you didn’t wear it this season, will you honestly wear it 12 months later?
Less is More
The American consumer culture can lead us to believe that possessing more brings greater happiness. Tackling this assumption can bring better mental health and happiness, and can improve our concentration and sense of well-being. In fact, owning more things brings with it more anxiety about how to pay for, protect and look after them. The simple truth is that owning less is easier than organizing more.

Our exclusive interview with Margaux Brooke and Jocelyn Chew from Oxygen’s The Face

Posted on by Icy Twan in LATEST | Comments Off on Our exclusive interview with Margaux Brooke and Jocelyn Chew from Oxygen’s The Face

Jocelyn Chew: Team Naomi

Q: Other then Naomi who is one of the most influential supermodels to you? And Why

A:: Other than Naomi Campbell, another influential supermodel to me is Kate Moss. Kate is also very ironic and I love how both Kate and Naomi have been working for years and still doing it. The fact that both women have been able to stay on top of the modeling game for decades is so inspiring.

Q: What inspired you to become a model?

A:I’ve always loved fashion, and when I was younger I was very interested in the models and the artistic nature of it.

Q:What separates you from the other contestants on THE FACE?

A:What separates myself from the other contestants on The Face is everything! I don’t like to compare myself to other people, I don’t think anyone should (especially with the modeling industry). Although a stand out for myself in the competition would be my look (half Chinese, half Icelandic). I have a commercial and fashion look I think I’m very versatile! < \em>

Q: Who’s your BIGGEST competition? Why?

A:I think my biggest competition in the show is my other teammates, because if we don’t win the challenge, one of us is going to the elimination room!

Q: If you could have dinner with ANYONE who would it be?

A:Walt Disney… and all the characters.

Q:Why are YOU going to be THE FACE?

A:I’m going to be The Face because I want it! I feel that I’m beautiful inside and out which is really important. I also have confidence in myself which is just as important when becoming a spokesperson for a major national brand.
Q:Any Advice for Up-and-Coming Models?

A:Always believe in yourself, don’t compare yourself with others. Take care of your skin and always have a nice manicure 😉

Margaux Brooke: Team Coco

Q: Other than Coco who is one of the most influential supermodels to you? And why?

Kate Moss is definitely an influential and inspirational supermodel to me. She opened the door for petite models like myself. She’s only 5′ 7″ and has had a more successful career than many models that are considered “supermodel height” and while she does mostly editorial work she’s also walked major runways and has been the face of huge commercial campaigns. Her success has helped me push myself in this industry because it is a lot harder to get noticed when you’re not 5′ 10″ and taller but if she can do it, I know I can do it too.

Q: What inspired you to become a model?

I wasn’t really inspired to become a model. I mean every girl looks up to the beauties that grace the covers of fashion magazines but my mom actually heard an ad on the radio for child models and brought me in. The agency signed me on the spot and the rest is history.

Q: What separates you from the other contestants on THE FACE.

A:My experience and my drive are what separate me from the other girls on The Face. I’ve been modeling since I was 9 years old. I’ve had to face nearly every trial and tribulation in the business from rejection and peer pressure to criticism. You have to have a thick skin to be in this industry and you also have to be very professional. I’ve never been late to a photo shoot, or given attitude on set because modeling is all about the relationships you create, your livelihood depends on them and you can’t afford to burn bridges.

Q:Who’s your BIGGEST competition? Why?

A:Devyn and Zi Lin are probably my biggest competition, while I know I can be successful at my height that doesn’t mean I’m not intimidated by the “tall girls”. Devyn is versatile, she can be editorial or commercial and Zi Lin is the queen of the runway, to quote Coco Rocha, “she has a power walk like a Chinese Karlie Kloss”.

Q:If you could have dinner with ANYONE who would it be.

A:Talk about a tough question! There are so many people I could name for different reasons but in the realm of modeling I would say Anna Wintour. Anna Wintour has been dictating America’s style as the editor-in-chief of Vogue for the past 25 years. It would be so much fun to pick her brain about how she selects the upcoming season’s trends, I mean once you get past the initial intimidation factor, which is huge. I love that she started the Vogue/CFDA fashion fund to help up and coming designers and that she doesn’t just rely on the established big name designers to fill the pages of her magazine. Her inovations and collaborations inspire so many people around the world. It would be an honor to have dinner with her and just maybe she’d tell me what it takes to grace the pages of American Vogue as a model or a writer, I’m not picky! 😉

Q:Why are YOU going to be THE FACE?

A:This is kind of the same question as “what sets me apparent from the other contestants?” Aside from my experience, drive and professionalism, I believe I’m versatile, relatable and unique. My look is different in that I can be androgynous or feminine, editorial or commercial but at the same time I think my life outside of modeling is one that any girl can relate to. When I’m not modeling I’m hanging out, making dinner with friends or going rock climbing. My normal life is super laid back and casual and I love it.

Q:Any Advice for Up-and-Coming Models?

A:My advice for aspiring models would be to realize how much work is involved before pursuing this career. It’s very demanding. A lot of people think we get paid to show up, look pretty and leave but it’s so much more than that. You have to go to a lot of castings, which for me means driving 3hrs round trip a day to spend 5 minutes showing a client my book. There is a lot of rejection, often you will hear many more no’s than yes’s. But at the same time know that when you do get booked for a job that you have to deliver and make the client happy even if that means arriving on set at 6am on a freezing cold beach and working for for 8-10hrs in a bikini.

Another piece of advice that is a super important for aspiring models is knowing that it’s okay to say “no”. Young girls get asked every day by photographers to take their clothes off and if you’re not comfortable with that, then say so. If the photographer is anyone worth working with, they will be okay with that. I personally am not opposed to nudity but that doesn’t mean I’m not selective about when I do or do not want to show my body. It’s important to know your bondaires and always feel comfortable with the job you’re doing and the people you’re working with.

Be sure to catch Margaux, Jocelyn and the rest of the contestants on THE FACE every Tuesday @ 9/8c on Oxygen!

Good-luck Everyone!

Nicki Minaj talks about her icey new looks

These days, the once cotton candy lacefront-donning Nick Minaj has toned down her look, much to the delight (or chagrin) of her adoring Barbz. The rapstress explained the reasoning behind the change: ” I have been doing a lot of dresses lately, and I feel more confident when I wear dresses. It doesn’t have to be super over the top sexy. Some of the dresses that I have been doing lately have been completely covered like sweater dresses and my fans have really responded to it. My fans are like ‘Hey Nicki, we want the crazy leggings’ and stuff like that, but we also want to have things that we can wear whether we are going to work or whatever. I’m really focused on the dresses! I’ve been feeling so romantic and sexy lately. Nicki is a brand new person stepping into this year, and we love it!” (Global Grind)
