From the show The Olsen Twins created a brand, and went on to producing TV shows, movies, a cosmetic line, furniture, and their most thrilling venture yet…fashion. Mary-Kate Olsen was one of the first to push “boho-chic” into the public eye.

The big glasses, oversized sweaters, the very thin waist and beach/bed hair were all a part of “the look.” Ashley opted for a more classic look with red lips, and while Mary-Kate plays a brunette, blonde hair has always been Ashley’s choice. The Haute-est of haute couture has been shaping the Paris all week. Whereas on day two of the shows Givenchy, the modest of the shows, has presented extraordinaire craftsmanship of— giant art-deco crystal earrings that danced alongside studded leather jackets and 1930’s nubuck crocodile skin dresses and long bleached and dyed tulle dresses. Pieces were presented on mannequins divided in three 18th century showrooms, just like the historic artifacts in the Louvre museum, this way the 10 pieces design aesthetics could be studied and viewed, persay fashionably appreciated. One floor-length dress looked conventional enough, until it was opened to reveal studs all over the inside. It has apparently become the most-wanted piece of the collection.

Riccardo Tisci said, “his two inspirations this season were the 1927 Fritz Lang movie Metropolis and the theme music from a more obscure Russian film, 1924′s Aelita: Queen of Mars.” A first look at this collection seems misleading, but at a second second look you can see where he was only working to establish a timeless identity—and what a very unique identity it is! The shaggy mohair and angora Fair Isle sweaters and great tailoring elements, like the tweed car coat, fitted suits and clean-cut camel coat which makes you want to throw out all your fall clothing and make room for the whole collection.
