Sony/Meg artist Que Williams is back"

There is a noticeable difference between today’s R&B and the music of the past. Once upon a time, great vocalists like Michael, Gerald, Luther and Keith had passion in their music. They had romance. The music made love. I ran across Sony/MEG artist Que Williams and I haven't looked back since. Bringing a new flavor to R & B, Que adds in neo-soul, trap and eclectic tunes to his music. ... Okay, so anyone who knows me knows that I’m obsessed with most things when it comes to the amazing Rachel Zoe today was her SS/14 show and her collection to me was flawless. Her use of pastel colors this season made me love it even more, also her denim and leather garments added something special to this season- a different side to the boho chic RZ. This season a lot of designers see to be stepping away from the safety of simplicity and I love it.

Let me know what you think on twitter!

This season Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen stepped a little further out of their effortlessly chic comfort zone adding heavier fabrics and bolder designs. This seasons woman was the “Exceedingly well dressed nomad” and the collection- the garments she’d picked up while traveling. The design duo’s conceptual vision was portrayed perfectly. With each look you saw a spec of the inspirations region. There were visions of Arabia, Russia, Northern Africa, and Korea. Overall the collection was amazing I loved the heavier fabrics even if its only short lived.

For the better part of 2013, wisdom designer Hans Chyi has been exploring a concept he calls “Mt. GENTLEMAN,” or “the search for a mature style guided by a sturdy yet graceful eye.” The idea also provided the starting point for his latest collection, combining influences from both the rugged outdoorsman and sophisticated urban dweller for a selection of simple, yet layered fall looks. Featuring casual designs like sweats, anoraks, soft tailoring and knits in a variety of colors and patterns — florals, paisleys and camouflage included — the collection is made in Taiwan with an unwavering attention to fabric, construction and function. Rihanna’s Costume Designer Launching Own Label at New York Fashion Week

Posted on by Icy Twan in LATEST | Comments Off on Rihanna’s Costume Designer Launching Own Label at New York Fashion Week

Adam Selman, Rihanna‘s costume designer and the brains behind the pop star’s multiple collabs for British high street brand River Island, is set to debut his first eponymous Spring 2014 collection at New York fashion week.

(…Wait, you didn’t think Rihanna actually designed those River Island collaborations all by herself, did you? Oh, you did? That’s so sweet!)

Selman, who was responsible for Rihanna’s barely-there bejeweled Carnival bikini, amongst other things, has been outfitting the pop star for the past two years. He studied design at Pratt, and initially got the hot-commodity gig through his boyfriend (and Rih-Rih’s stylist), Mel Ottenberg.

But don’t expect any bedazzled boobs in his own collection: According to WWD (which got a sneak preview of Selman’s stuff), the line includes “a swim component, worked in a wearable way, along with soft lingerie and athletic references.” “It’s sexy. It’s that fantasy woman but it’s also sporty,” says Selman, who took inspiration from a 1981 HBO special on supermodels called Beautiful Baby, Beautifuland 1970s Cosmo covers.

Selman’s hope is that his September 5 presentation will lead to retail potential, tellingWWD that Net-a-Porter, Barneys New York, and Opening Ceremony are all on his radar. Seeing as Opening Ceremony’s already technically carried his designs, we’re betting at least one of those goals will be met.
